Please Don’t Miss This!

I’m glad to report to you that I’m over the awful sore throat that kept me home last Sabbath!  Katie and the girls are better too.  Thank you for your prayers.

And I’m very excited to share with you about what’s coming up this weekend at our church.  We’re starting the year off with a BIG focus on evangelism.

START stands for Strategic Training and Revitalization Tour, which is organized by the Oregon Conference Outreach Ministries department.  So, we start the year with START.  It starts Friday night with a light meal at 6:00pm.  Then the first training session is at 7:00pm.

Sabbath morning we’ll continue the training in the sanctuary instead of the regular Sabbath School class.  We’re strongly encouraging the other adult classes to join us for this special outreach training.  Part 3 will be during the church service, and then after a delicious potluck lunch, we’ll have 3 more sessions in the afternoon.  I hope you can attend each one, but if you can’t, you can watch the livestream on our YouTube page:

By the way, we’re trying to have a children’s program/childcare during the afternoon so the parents can sit in for the training.  If you would be willing to help, please contact me or Jeannie.

Why START to start this year?  Because Jesus commanded us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations…” (Matthew 28:19).  Think of START as an Evangelism Rally—a weekend that gets us excited about reaching people in our community for Christ!  Of course, Jesus wants to save every single person in Ridgefield and our surrounding communities.  This weekend is designed to focus our attention on that very thing—evangelism (reaching people for Christ).

I’m sure God will bless us abundantly through the ministry of the three men who compose the Outreach Ministries department.  He’ll bless us as we surrender to Him and say, “Here I am, send me, use me somehow to reach people for You.”

I’m praying for two outcomes from the weekend: 1) that we will get more excited and passionate about reach people for Christ and 2) that we will feel more prepared to so, and put what we learn into practice.

Please don’t miss this weekend.  It’s 2023—and Jesus is coming soon.  Let’s work with Him to reach more people so they can be prepared to meet Him when He comes.
